Our Team
BioX Power is comprised of an experienced team of 32 engineers, project managers, operating specialists, and investment professionals with decades of experience across the biomethane value chain. Our professionals have originated, financed, developed, constructed, acquired, and operated renewable energy assets throughout Europe, combining institutional investment experience with extensive technical and operational capabilities. This integrated approach enables us to identify opportunities early, manage execution efficiently, and create long-term value throughout the investment lifecycle.
The senior team combines backgrounds from leading global private equity firms, investment banks, and renewable energy developers with one of Italy’s most experienced local biomethane platforms. Together, the team has overseen the development, construction, acquisition, and operation of more than 20 biogas and biomethane plants and has extensive expertise in M&A, project finance, engineering, feedstock procurement, EPC management, plant operations, and institutional capital formation.
This combination of financial discipline, technical excellence, and local execution provides BioX Power with the capabilities to originate, develop, and scale a leading European biomethane platform.
Lev Kapsogiorgos
CEO
Lev has more than 22 years of M&A and Private Equity experience in London and New York. Prior to BioX Power, he established a biomethane platform in Italy in JV with an institutional investor, successfully building a portfolio of plants. Prior to that he was a Partner at Hudson Clean Energy, one of the world's first cleantech and green energy private equity funds. Before that, he founded his own $120m Private Equity fund fully invested in green energy, which was subsequently sold to Hudson. He was previously a Principal at Arclight Capital, a $17bn energy-focused PE fund. Lev began his career in investment banking with Morgan Stanley and Credit Suisse.
Dante Bombelli
Feedstock Management
Dante is responsible for Bio PowerX's biogas and biomethane activities and has been instrumental in setting up and expanding BioX Power's presence in the sector. He brings deep on-the-ground expertise in renewable energy markets.
Carlo Rinaldi
Operations Management
Carlo is a specialist in the field of biogas, biomass and renewable energy projects. With a career spanning over 2 decades, he brings his experience and expertise to every stage of project development from feasibility studies to operational management.
Pietro Branchi
Project Manager
Pietro is an entrepreneur and executive with more than 30 years of experience in finance, renewable energy, and agricultural innovation. He's spearheaded several innovative agricultural initiatives and the development of biogas, biomethane, and agrivoltaic projects throughout Italy.
Luigi Norgia
Head of Technical Team
Luigi has over 30 years of experience in environmental engineering and renewable energy; he oversees the technical assessment of plants, due diligence, plant design, and supervision of construction. He has been involved in the design and construction of renewable energy plants both in Italy and internationally and has been responsible for and supervised the construction of more than 25 biogas/biomethane plants.
Federica Maggi
Investment Director
Federica specialises in evaluating budgets, managing cash flow, and ensuring financial sustainability for large-scale projects. With more than 10 years of experience in the renewable energy industry, she's an expert in financial risk, cost optimisation and strategic guidance to support project success.
Reuven Savit
Investment Director
Reuven handles the day-to-day business of the firm and its investment, risk, and technology functions. He draws upon nearly 20 years of experience in financial markets, focused primarily on renewables since 2018. Formerly a Management Consultant at Deloitte and VP at Bear Stearns / JP Morgan (Series 7 & 63). Prior to Bio PowerX, he was an investment advisor for individuals and a family office. Cory Gersten
Business Development
Cory is responsible for the firm's capital raising activities and investor relations. He has extensive M&A and debt origination, execution, and management experience. Cory is adept at identifying off-market investment opportunities in the US, Europe, and Africa, and maintains a proven track record of helping clients develop and implement entry and growth strategies within emerging markets. His client base spans private equity and hedge funds, family offices, and government and public-sector groups.
Alex Arce
PROJECT & OPERATION MANAGEMENT
Alex oversees coordination and execution to ensure timely and efficient results. He has held hospitality, recruitment, and customer operations leadership roles, providing him with ample experience in management, communication, and operational execution. Alex is fluent in Spanish (native) and English (native-level), with proficiency in French, Italian, German, and Korean.
Kristina Rugyte
PORTFOLIO MANAGEMENT
Kristina is responsible for portfolio management of Bio PowerX's investments and maintains public and investor relations. Prior to BioX Power, she gained extensive experience in fund administration and investor relations through roles at two renewable energy funds. BA, Klaipeda University; MSc, Vilnius University.
Indre Vaizgelaite
PROJECT MANAGEMENT · PERMITTING · ENVIRONMENT
Indre oversees project management, permitting and planning processes, and liaison with network operators. She is also heavily involved in the environmental due diligence of new projects. Previously a manager at RenewableUK and an advisor to the European Commission. MSc Environmental Technology, Imperial College London; BSc Ecology, Klaipeda University. Attended Harvard University.
Arnas Kulikauskas
PROJECT MANAGEMENT & PROCUREMENT
Arnas organises and supervises equipment procurement, construction tenders and progress. As a Project Manager, he has led and completed a number of high-profile asset developments across a number of industries, including energy, forestry and real estate, both in the private and public sector. Having a BA in Law, he is uniquely skilled to lead project developments with challenging aspects and deadlines.
Rosella Ranito
PERMITTING & ADMINISTRATIVE MANAGEMENT
Rosella is responsible for all project management aspects of each plant, including dealing with permitting, construction, and coordination of all site managers. She has 10 years of experience in nearly all renewable energy technologies and specialises in permitting and local authority relations. She has a degree in civil engineering from the Polytechnic University of Bari and a Master's degree in Project Management.
